Aeration & Seeding Services

Lawn aeration is a really simple and incredibly beneficial lawn service that does some amazing things for your soil, and in turn for the vitality of your lawn that far too few people perform on their lawns. One of the reasons many people choose not to aerate their lawn is because purchasing an aerator its cost prohibitive for something that is used only once a year. Another, and maybe more common reason is simply because most people don't understand why aeration is needed.
. As your grass grows and ages throughout the season, the roots, and soil become compacted with dead grass and waste from the summer grass deterioration process. While this is a normal process, this compaction prevents the root system from receiving the nutrition it needs. When the root system fails, so does your grass — and that leads to dying grass, thatch and unsightly brown spots whihc plague a majority of homes who do not aerate and over seed in the fall.
Aeration is nothing more than removing a small, pin, or pencil to finger sized piece of dirt from your lawn depending on the type of aerator used. The tiny soil plug that is removed contains millions of microbes that help digest that thatch layer and convert it into organic mater than is then recycled back into the soil. This process of lawn aeration assures water, air and fertilizer reach the root system of your grass and allows the soil to remain loose and healthy.
Once Aeration is completed, over seeding is used to help fill in any thin areas where brown spots have formed.
Over seeding is the process of planting grass seed directly “over” the existing turf right after aeration is completed. The most effective way of over seeding is after an aeration service as it allows better soil-to-seed contact, which is required for best germination results. The aeration holes create room for new seed to get under the lawn’s surface, making aeration and over seeding the perfect combination. The result will be new grass growth as well as increased root development for existing grass which creates a thicker, greener and healthier lawn.
